Dr. Paul Freinkel

Dr. Paul Freinkel

I am a Wits qualified doctor with an extensive experience in trauma medicine who has evolved into the appreciation of general practice and patient-involved therapy. I am interested in medical teaching especially with the validity of medical exams.

Dr. Sharon Cohen

Dr. Sharon Cohen

BSc (Wits) MBBCh (Wits)

I graduated with an honours degree in psychology at Wits University in 1992 and then went on to study medicine at Wits, from which I graduated in 1999.

Since 2002 I have been in private general practice in Johannesburg and at the Village Medical Centre since 2005. I enjoy the fact that general practice often melds the disciplines of psychology and medicine. My interests include women’s wellness and chronic health problems such as hypertension and asthma, but at the same time I enjoy the variety of clinical problems that one encounters in the general practice context.

When not with patients, I enjoy choral singing, tinkling on the piano keys and art-making.

Dr. Arianna Alletzhauser

Dr. Arianna Alletzhauser

MPH Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

Dr. Alletzhauser is a general practitioner who qualified at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2015. Her career has taken her across South Africa’s public and private healthcare sectors, giving her a broad, grounded understanding of the many different ways people experience healthcare. She holds a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, along with postgraduate diplomas in HIV Management, Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, and Child Health. Her special interests include paediatric and maternal health, infectious disease, primary care, and community health. At the heart of Dr. Alletzhauser’s practice is a belief in person-centred care. She believes true wellbeing starts with empowered patients; when people have the right knowledge and understanding, they’re able to take an active role in their own healthcare journey. She’s equally passionate about building sustainable healthcare systems that make high-quality, patient-centred care more accessible to everyone. Whether addressing an everyday concern or navigating a more complex health journey, Dr. Alletzhauser brings warmth, clinical depth, and genuine care to every consultation.
